Yo Gabba Gabba is a Favorite Theme for Toddlers Birthday Party

There are very few one year olds that haven’t heard the crazy theme song on Nick Jr for Yo Gabba Gabba. Most parents of one year olds can even tell you who DJ Lance is. This is one of the teaching shows on Nick Jr where odd little creatures and DJ in funny clothes teach lessons about not being afraid, how to be friends and making sure you eat your vegetables. This makes Yo Gabba Gabba a wonderful first birthday party theme if you want to entertain your little one and other kids at the party.
It may seem odd to you to go through so much trouble for a birthday party that your child isn’t even going to remember. I thought so too… before I became a mother. Now I can tell you that it was one of the most stressful birthday parties I have thrown. You want to make a lasting impression not only on your one year old… but on all the people that come to celebrate with you and your little one as the get ready to enter toddlerhood.
When planning your Yo Gabba Gabba party you need to think about who you are inviting. This will be one of the few parties that your child can’t tell you who to invite and who not to invite. They don’t really have friends yet, so the guest list is basically going to be friends and family… and the little ones of those friends and family members. Don’t worry… you may be stressed over having other children at the party. Careful planning will help control any chaos that may take place.
Let’s talk about the planning. Chaos can happen with a lot of people in one place, regardless of their age. The first way to head off any issues is with food. For a first birthday party that is Yo Gabba Gabba themed, you want to include a vegetable tray loaded with finger food sized vegetables such as baby carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, maybe even fresh green beans and other veggies. Cheese trays, lunch meat, small sandwiches, mini pizzas, hot dogs, mini burgers and other similar foods are also good ideas.

Then there is the cake. You have a couple of options here, you can get a sheet cake decorated with Yo Gabba Gabba characters, you can get a cake in the shape of one of the characters or brightly frosted cupcakes that match the characters on the show. Bright green, pink, yellow, red or blue are all inviting colors to get your little one to stick his or her fingers into their first cake.
One thing you can’t forget if you are throwing a Yo Gabba Gabba themed first birthday party is music. You can play music and do funny little dances; a personal favorite of mine is “Hold still….Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle”.  There are traditional games you can play as well such as Pass the Bubble.
If you want to get adults involved you can purchase a few disposable cameras and hand them out to guests and have them take pictures during the party. Guests will get some shots that you won’t be able to get. This will give you and your little one something to look back at and enjoy.

Fantastic Kids Food Designed for a Gathering

A party is always cool for any child, and it can be equally excitement for parents as well. The one thing that a lot of parents can be concerned about whether they are throwing a party for their kids or attending one with them is the food that will be served. A side from helping food that will be appealing to children and something that they will enjoy, lots of parents now require to serve or eat healthier food at kids parties. It may seem difficult for many parents, since cool and healthy do not forever come hand in hand especially when it is children that you are talking about. However, this is not impossible since there are lots of options that are available to make food at a party enjoyable and beneficial at the same time.

children love using their hands when they eat and there are plenty of options for enjoyable and beneficial finger foods. Try to keep things fresh and serve vegetable sticks during your kid’s party. You can also cut your vegetables up in fun shapes and provide different kinds of dips for these. The kids will love being able to pick their own dip and dunking in the vegetables. Animal crackers can also be served alongside these vegetables. Fruits can also be used, but since several fruits cannot be slash into sticks, try a fondue with cheese. This will surely be a big hit. If you want to spare other parents of having so much clean off their kids, then you can arrange something less messy such as ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins on top).

Pinwheel sandwiches don’t only look beautiful on a platter at any party but they can be healthful too. Just take a whole loaf of bread, slice it lengthwise and spread some something beneficial in it, like tuna or chicken spread. Roll it up and refrigerate previous to slicing and helping. Again you can also cut up your sandwiches in other little easy to consume shapes making it easier for the children to pop it into their mouths.

Soda is something that is regularly served at parties, but this drink is just way too sugared for children. Not to mention that carbonated drinks aren’t very healthful either. A newly picked fruit punch with newly picked fruit slices can be a better option. Put your punch in a huge punch bowl so that the kids see it, Use contrasting colors with your sliced fruits to make it more colorful.

Finally, don’t forget that through parties kids can be drawn to food that looks excellent. So presentation can be the key to helping healthful food at your kids’ next party. Take the time out to make the food more appealing and the kids will be drawn to it more. Remember that healthful does not have to mean unexciting. Have excitement with the children food party preparations and the kids will surely have cool eating them too.
